An old, strange looking lamp that I had growing up was taken apart, and I had a large glass bowl containing the oil from inside. The oil was greenish and transparent, and had a strong chemical smell. The bowl was not sealed and awkward to hold. I was certain this oil was toxic in some way.
I brought this oil with me to a friends house where many people were visiting and spending the night. The bowl of oil eventually spilled on me. The friend who owned the house said he knew an expert on lamp oil who could tell if it was toxic. The "expert" was a bratty teenage kid who said the oil was made of some basic, harmless ingredients. This made me go berserk and throw the oil on all of the guests in the house.
Somehow, it was made clear to everyone (including myself) that I was wrong, and the oil was harmless. Later the expert came back, and we sat on the sofa to look at some DVD slideshows of very early AI images that I had made.
